Peer teaching can be easily implemented in science, allowing students to better their own knowledge whilst also assisting others. ICTs can also be used to create engaging presentations and research effectively.

Thanks for sharing Grace, I really liked the way this article showed evidence for peer teaching. The concept is something which I can apply to my classes, which also makes me consider how I could use digital technology to do so.

Interesting views but I have mixed feelings about some.

School librarians should be the leaders to help build these competencies in their staff and students. The web is one source among many and the librarian can help forge the bridges to connect learning across the media landscape.

Remember when you were in school and you had to cram hundreds of pages of textbook material into your head before every big test? If you were like most students, you and your friends probably developed all kinds of tactics to make the grade. Maybe you made flashcards, or reviewed recordings of your professors’ lectures, or came up with intricate mnemonic devices to memorize the material at hand. You may have argued with your classmates about which method was best—but the truth is that, when it comes to learning, one size does not fit all. Scientists and psychologists have developed a number of different models to understand the different ways that people learn best. One popular theory, the VARK model, identifies four primary types of learners: visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will remember information best after reciting it back to the presenter, while kinesthetic learners will jump at the chance to participate in a hands-on activity.

All the material that you want to transmit to your students, you must do it in a particular way. Take into account the 4 types of learners ( visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic) and try to create a way to transmit the information involving all of these types.
Through these article you will understand each particularity depending of the type of learner and which content is better for each one. It provides useful tips and explanations. |

Science is pretty clear Learning by teaching can help improve student efficacy, confidence and communication skills. You can accomplish that by using adjuncts, have them teach during a lesson, teach small groups within the larger group. I’m a huge fan of peers teaching each other ...

I connected very much with this article. Creating the vacuum that encourages students to pull in the information is my goal.
