It seems like boredom is deadly to the learning process and that's exactly what high school students report is what is happening to them in most schools - The lack of challenge. k-Lon

Being able to listen with focus and empathy is key, whereby those in our care feel supported and heard. In a world where everyone is so busy and time often seems to be the commodity that we have the least of, this diagram really serves to remind us that we need to listen constructively, suggest skilfully and try to understand the emotion of those we are engaging with in all that we do. Purposeful listening rather than just hearing is key.

"In our schools, “the emphasis is on what students need to learn, whereas little emphasis—if any—is placed on training students how they should go about learning the content and what skills will promote efficient studying to support robust learning,”

Having only recently for the first time taken up Blogging for an assessment item, I have become aware of its benefits in the classroom. This diagram shows more ways in which it can be useful than I originally had realised and as such, I have now decided that adding a reflective Blog into my teaching will be of benefit to the students. The ability to be in connection with others worldwide, will open students up to new possibilities. I hope also then, that my Blogs and my students Blogs will benefit the wider community also. I am reminded though that I need to ensure that the online environment that my students are involved in is a safe environment.

It is relevant to note that learning is a process in which many people get frustration, while they are putting all effort to get success in. But, it could be seen from others perspectives and take learning as an adventure or passion for acquiring valuable and useful knowledge . Looking for more information engulf us in new views, making clearer our ideas and develop them easier. Being a "coder" is being a master in what we need to learn with the help of constant repetition, yet better if it is enjoyable for us. So, the trick is do not get stressed, just taking time to look for, practice on, and understand better.

But what I did realize is that successful people are successful because they approach learning in a consistent, systematic, results-focused way. Bravery isn't a requirement for success. Innate talent isn't a requirement for success. Talented, highly skilled people don't take big risks yet they still learn to accomplish big things.

Research shows that hands-on learning is an effective way to teach students science. A 2009 study found that eighth-grade students who were involved in hands-on science projects demonstrated a deeper understanding of concepts than students who were taught with traditional methods such as textbook readings, lectures, and tests (Riskowski et al., 2009).
If students use their hands as well as their minds, they're essentially learning twice.

that it’s important for young people to become economically independent and self-sufficient. But to do that, he argues, they shouldn’t all learn the same thing. Instead, they should be learning to be adaptable, to be innovative, to flow with change, to collaborate and other globalized skills that will apply to whatever area of work they are passionate about pursuing. An education can help expose students to different life paths and support them in finding their passions, while giving them the transferable skills to attack any problem.
