Wow, such a devastating crisis! President Biden alerted the nation with "Code Red" as this is a direct effect of climate change. You should check out my scoop.it post as it relates to community outreach and coastal resiliency. Louisiana and surrounding states need diverse feedback in order to resolve their coastal issues. My heart goes out to all of the families that lost not only their loved ones but their entire livelihood.

The Easy Fire in Simi Valley is spreading quickly in these near-hurricane force winds.  Consistently ~43mph winds with gusts to 62mph.  Technically hurricane force winds begin at 74mph...we will be to that level shortly.  So California is having "dry hurricanes" rather than mere firestorms.

Florida is dealing with one of the worst magnitudes of hurricanes it ever has before. The state has never experienced a hurricane of this magnitude, a category 4. It is the first hurricane in history to  make landfall over the Big Bend area of Florida's coast.
