from this research item I understand that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are violating the federal law. This has consequences of pollution and diseases some of which are toxic and dangerous to human and marine life and can impact marine environments. This also means that the EPA are endangering an entire ecosystem by allowing the oil industry to dump unlimited amounts of chemicals and spilling waste fluid into the Gulf of Mexico. Eventually, the waste put into the gulf of Mexico will have a negative effect on the surrounding sea's such as the Caribbean sea geographically below it.
